Dr. S Thiruvengadam used to be Professor of Electrical Engineering at REC NIT CALICUT during our times and also HEAD OF DEPARTMENT for two years. He served REC for many decades and holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from IIT DELHI.
His quarters used to be away from the Campus yonder to the Guest House and he used to walk in a measured way every day the entire distance very often dressed in a White shirt. I searched for a photo of his on the internet but could not find one..He used to be one of the guides for our final year project and we used to go to his house sometimes for some discussions.
The unique aspect about this person was that he was an excellent administrator and could keep things under control and ensure stability sometimes showing anxiety about the matter and used to solve administrative problems well and for-see them before hand.
Later I heard he joined an Engineering College in Chennai holding a high post and this institute in Chennai would have derived immense benefit from his rich administrative experience at REC.
